General Purpose:
The ideal candidate will have experience reviewing U.S. legal documents, extracting information, organizing it into a database, analyzing U.S. legal documents, and identifying potential issues, preparing reports and presentations, and providing administrative support to the executive.
Responsibilities:
• Client Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates on case progress, answering inquiries, and maintaining a professional and empathetic demeanor when working with individuals and families.
• Drafting Documents: Prepare wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other legal documents, ensuring they comply with relevant laws and regulations.
• Estate Planning: Collaborate with attorneys to assess clients' estate planning needs and provide recommendations, including the establishment of trusts, asset protection strategies, and healthcare directives.
• Probate Administration: Assist with the administration of estates, including filing necessary court documents, communicating with beneficiaries, and managing the probate process from start to finish.
• Legal Research: Conduct research on relevant legal issues, statutes, and regulations to support the attorneys in case preparation and strategy.
• Record Maintenance: Maintain organized and accurate client records, ensuring all documents and communication are properly documented and easily accessible.
• Scheduling and Calendar Management: Manage attorney schedules, including court dates, client meetings, and deadlines, to ensure efficient time management and case progression.
• Billing and Financial Records: Prepare client invoices, track billable hours, and assist in managing the financial aspects of the practice.
• Notary Services: Act as a notary public to notarize legal documents as required.
• Continuing Education: Stay up to date on changes in estate planning and probate law, attending relevant workshops, seminars, and legal conferences.
• Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies, Legal Studies, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience as a paralegal, with specific experience in estate planning and probate law.
