About the role:

We're looking for a dedicated research analyst to help us discover information on people, and organizations, and assist with various other research tasks. This person needs to be a strong critical thinker, and capable of doing heavy, qualitative research, not just simple tasks like lead generation.

Duties and responsibilities:

• General online research (look at websites and find out information about organizations and people)
• Help us discover information on people, and organizations, and assist with various other research tasks (mostly highly qualitative research tasks).
• Identifying individuals based on roles they currently hold, then finding their LinkedIn profiles and other web presences.
• Finding individuals' contact information- Updating their information based on role changes, contact info, etc. This will require a method to check on them from time to time.
• For each individual, we will have a pre-defined set of other fields that we will need to trace down information.
• Researching organizations and filling out a pre-defined set of requested fields with information we need on them.
• Maintaining a large set of 20,000+ organizations.
• Keeping the organizations data set up to date.
• Learning about these types of organizations on an in-depth level, with the ability to then conduct deep market research on each one's websites as well as discover new sources of information about them online.
• Discovering new people that belong to the organizations, and then executing the process outlined above- Data labeling and correction for each organization
• A high level of time availability is a must as well as very fluent English skills.

About the team

We, the CS Learning Development team, partner with our internal development team, Canva University, to be able to provide the needed support in our CS Operations which then empowers the specialists to be successful in delighting our users. We also collaborate with the enablement teams such as Service Quality, Content Team, and the UV Specialists Operations teams in order to identify and assess the training needs of our specialists - then build the appropriate curriculum and training programs for them.

What you'll do

• Use your instructional design background to craft compelling learning content, experiences, and materials including but not limited to: new employees’ systems access, training tools, and other needs as outlined by the specialisation
• Create and launch projects and initiatives with multiple moving pieces and stakeholders specifically to ensure that specialisation’s performance keeps on improving and remains to be excellent
• Define learning design principles in alignment with Canva University's Learning & Development Principles
• Establish relationships with specialisation including vendor partners to steer all things learning, including but not limited to onboarding and up-skilling

The Grants Officer - Cebu Hub will coordinate and support the administration (from the call for application stage to the end of the life of the grant) of all grant awards under O2 program within the Cebu Regional Hub. The Cebu regional hub currently includes five (5) sites: Cebu City, Iloilo City, Isabela City, Tagbilaran City, and Zamboanga City.

The Grants Officer will report to the Grants Manager and will ensure effective and efficient grant making processes. In coordination with the Grants Manager, s/he is responsible for ensuring the preparation, implementation, monitoring, and completion of project accompaniment local grants and grants to higher education institutions, ensuring compliance with the financial management, reporting, and accountability requirements of USAID and EDC. The Grants Officer – Cebu Hub will implement the component based on the EDC Grant Manual and the process for the project's grant program in compliance with USAID regulations.  

Essential Functions

The Grants Officer’s specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Support the Grants Manager in the administration of the O2 grants program, ensuring compliance with EDC and USAID guidelines 
• Participate in site visits of current and future grantees, evaluating usage of grant funds and administrative areas to determine level of risk; provide recommendations to grant execution based on assessment.
• In consultation with the Grants Manager, provide direction and guidance to Grantees on fund management and control, as needed.
• Support the Grants Manager in the conduct of post-award orientation meetings with the grantees to ensure that all terms/conditions of the contract /grant were understood.
• In coordination with the Grants Manager, perform periodic evaluations in order to review compliance with grant requirements and EDC/USAID regulations. Detect and resolve implementation problems.
• Support the Finance Manager and Grants Manager in the administration and oversight of grant expenditures in accordance with EDC and USAID guidelines.
• Maintain good reporting processes for all grants, reporting any grants pipeline issues to management on a monthly basis.
• Monitor milestone table budget to ensure project expenditures versus milestones and milestone means of verification.
• Collect progress reports on the implementation of milestone activities.

The Private Sector Manager will be responsible for building linkages between local industry and private sector leaders, education programs and skills training providers in throughout the Philippines.  Working closely with the DCOP for Technical Programs, TESD Advisor and Youth Technical Lead, the Private Sector Manager will work to strengthen private sector engagement more broadly in the project’s education and training activities for out-of-school youth. This includes developing and facilitating private sector driven models related to youth employment and livelihood outcomes. The Private Sector Manager will lead the formulation of the project's policy, strategies and programs to accelerate private sector development and public-private partnerships that will provide work opportunities for youth beneficiaries, technical direction to improve training courses and engage in labor market assessment activities.  The Private Sector Manager reports to the DCOP for Technical Programs. 

Essential Functions 

The Private Sector Manager’s specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 

• Coordinate closely with the USAID, the Chief of Party, and relevant stakeholders to identify private sector partners as well as other potential partnership opportunities. 
• Develop and implement outreach strategies to key industries (both in private and public sectors). 
• Provide technical leadership for the design, formalization, and management of innovative public-private partnerships. 
• Provide guidance and direction on the private-sector engagement strengthening in all O2 sites by providing inputs and technical knowledge to all municipal level YDCs, especially in relation to the strengthening the resilience of O2 youth. 
• Oversee implementation of specific youth related private-sector engagement deepening plans and activities of O2 sites. 
• Provide private-sector engagement technical expertise to the program.  
• Develop and standardize successful activities and best practices for private sector engagement activities that can be replicated in multiple sites. 
• Develop and deliver private sector engagement training workshops for O2 staff, DepEd representatives, TESDA representatives, and YDA members. 
• Serve as the O2 liaison with city/municipal LGU officials and local partners under the assigned geographical area to ensure close collaboration in all aspects of O2 technical programming. 
• Coordinate with national, regional, city/municipal level private sector engagement forums for SMEs, large corporations, partner agencies, as well as local youth service providers. 
• Work with the Private Sector to increase their support to OSYs to find or transition to employment and to provide more employment or on-the-job training opportunities for OSYs.
• Provide technical support and guidance to the Private Sector Coordinators and Private Sector Officers. Coordinate with the Youth Technical Lead and Youth Development Coordinators using strategies such as technical working group meetings, regular planning, implementation meetings, and other appropriate means. 
• Prepare work plans and activity reports with the technical guidance of the DCOP/Technical, TESD Advisor, as well as the Youth Technical Lead.  
• Actively participate in fostering a collaborative work environment between O2 technical teams and partner technical teams through close coordination with PBEd’s private sector engagement manager. 

Other Responsibilities: 

• Provide feedback on private sector engagement activities and other implementation concerns at the field level. 
• Provide technical inputs to O2 project team meetings and written materials for quarterly reports via the Youth Technical Lead.  
• Comply with project and organizational policies on technical activities with regards to security, human resources, financial and grants management.

The Youth Development Coordinator (YDC), under the supervision of Youth Development Team leader, will oversee the work in Cotabato City. S/he will coordinate and organize site activities and work with DepEd ALS, TESDA local office and accredited institutions, and the LGU to establish the Youth Development Alliances (YDAs), and coordinate youth engagement activities for beneficiaries along with the Private Sector, Technical Development, and SILC officers.

The Youth Development Coordinator will work closely with the local partners covering their project site – providing technical guidance and monitoring their activities. The YDC will collect data on activities and contribute to the project reports.

Essential Functions

The Youth Development Coordinator’s specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Support planning and conducting activities to strengthen the system’s service delivery, such as engaging local universities in DepEd ALS teacher professional development and, continuing education and career guidance for DepEd ALS learners, as well as, developing a pre-service ALS teacher training curriculum program for leading teacher education institutions.
• Support planning and implementation of a blended professional development training program for master trainers and DepEd ALS implementers, in close coordination with DepEd.
• Support testing of flexible delivery modalities for DepEd ALS program to meet the needs of diverse out-of-school youth populations.
• In coordination with the Private Sector Coordinator/Officer, provide technical assistance to the Youth Development Alliances (YDA) to support their capacity improvement in a) information-gathering regarding employer demand and self-employment opportunities; and b) continuous relationship- building with prospective local employers and industry partners.
• Support the YDA and the Private Sector Coordinator/Officer, in conducting annual region-specific labor market assessments (LMA) and using the results to inform programming and ensure alignment of youth skills development with employer and industry needs.
• Support the Private Sector Coordinator/Officer to build the capacity of selected TESDA accredited institutions in conducting and analyzing localized LMA.
• Support the implementation of a pilot program that combines the Be Your Own Boss (BYOB) curriculum with savings groups (SILC) and entrepreneurship accompaniment.
• Supervise and oversee the small grants component for local training service providers to help integrate Work-Based Learning (WBL), entrepreneurship training and coaching, private sector engagement strategies, and technical training into their existing programs and services for ALS learners and TESDA trainees.
• Lead activities to build the capacity of local youth service providers to offer and implement job/employment intermediation services.
• Ensure the quality and delivery of O2 curriculum and skills training by youth service providers.
• Support and oversee the training of all stakeholders involved in the YDAs to understand, implement and measure progress against a holistic approach.
• Provide technical assistance to youth service providers and YDAs to ensure they use a holistic lens when conducting outreach to the private sector, youth-serving organizations and training providers, through EDC-led training/workshops for YDA and youth networks; and other capacity-building activities for city/municipal youth alliances including youth service providers.
• Coordinate and oversee the implementation of community mappings within their region including the LGU representatives, the DepEd BAE and TESDA, universities and TVET institutions, community-based organizations (CBOs), associations of entrepreneurs and chambers of commerce, representatives of parents’ associations, and other education stakeholders.
• Help sustain youth development alliances, such as but not limited to coordinating with YDA focal person on the conduct and documentation of YDA meetings and YDA-led activities.
• Provide technical assistance and facilitate logistical support for EDC-led training/workshops for YDA and youth network; and other capacity-building activities for city/municipal youth alliances including youth service providers.
• Working closely with the Youth Technical Director and other Youth Development Coordinator(s), participate in planning and support the conduct of city/municipal project launch activities; establish partnerships with Mayors and LGU officials; and facilitate the formation of youth development alliances.
• Support the conduct of learning and dissemination events and annual youth summits, youth civic engagement activities, and other capacity-building activities for city/municipal youth alliances including youth service providers.
• Serve as the O2 liaison with city/municipal LGU officials, and other local partners in his/her area of responsibility to ensure close collaboration in all aspects of O2 technical programming.
• Coordinate with city/municipal level partner agencies and local youth service providers on project supervision visits of US Embassy/USAID, EDC, DepEd BAE, TESDA national and regional offices, and other officials to his/her area of responsibility.
• Coordinate with city/municipal level partner agencies, youth service providers, and relevant local stakeholders to support data gathering activities for progress monitoring, impact assessments, and operations research and learning purposes in his/her area of responsibility.
• Provide technical and other support for implementing workshops, forums and other learning events at the local level to disseminate results of project-wide assessments, communicate innovative approaches and good practices, and share research findings as appropriate, for the purpose of knowledge-sharing and for building or sustaining partnerships.
• Actively contribute to the project communications plan by regularly providing documentation of significant events, success stories, and other similar materials to feature in USAID weekly highlights, EDC newsletter, and for press releases.
• Provide technical inputs, for partner and technical working group meetings; planning and implementation meetings, and the like.
• Prepare work plans and activity reports.
• Provide feedback on youth service providers’ activities and other implementation concerns at the field level.
• Provide technical inputs to O2 project team meetings and written materials for quarterly reports.
• Actively participate in fostering a collaborative environment between technical teams in the field and Admin, HR, and Finance departments.
• Comply with project and organizational policies on technical activities with regards to security, human resources, financial and grants management, the confidentiality of documents and information, and the like.
• Comply with EDC’s administrative and HR regulations, including policies and procedures on performance management and annual performance review.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Youth Development Team Leader.

The Gokongwei Brothers Foundation (GBF) Content and Learning Design Senior Manager will lead the design and development of high-quality lesson materials and lesson guides that will be accessible by Math teachers through the GBF Class Builder platform. These will aim to enhance learning outcomes of students across all grade levels of Math, help teachers deliver engaging lessons and help build Math proficiency and higher order thinking skills of students.

Specific requirements include:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Instructional Design or equivalent
• A Master’s or Doctorate Degree will be an advantage
• Strong familiarity with the Philippine K-12 Math curriculum
• At least five (5) years of solid experience in developing and editing K-12 Math educational content, 2two (2) years in a managerial capacity
• Extensive experience in teaching Math in a classroom or hybrid mode under a public or private school setting
• Experience as a Math Master Teacher, a Math Subject Matter Head, or a Math Teacher Coach
• A good understanding of student and adult learning journey

Learning Partnering

• Develop a deep understanding of the business opportunities and challenges we’re working to solve; design & deliver tailored people strategies & solutions that both scale and enable them to achieve Crazy Big Goals
• Work with the specialities and People Leads to discern the current skill gaps and skills we need for our future (business strategy, capacity planning, succession planning etc)
• Deeply understand the current learning culture and assess enablers and barriers to growth and learning

Building Learning Strategies

• Identify and address learning needs that have a measurable impact on individual, team and business performance

Who you are

• Shown experience partnering with senior collaborators in order to understand critical priorities, business needs, determine performance gaps, and build and implement a learning strategy and roadmap
