Implements FDIC OIG policies and programs in accordance with Office of Personnel Management and the Corporation's regulations, in functional areas assigned. Reviews proposed changes in these areas for impact on OIG programs and develops changes as needed to ensure appropriate compliance.
Computes retirement annuities, providing Executives, employees and retirees with information on coverage and required procedures. Reviews retirement documentation for adequacy and accuracy, obtains additional documentation as necessary and resolves problems with the U.S. Office of Personnel Management.
Serves as lead and coordinates with other staff members the work and processing of compensation decisions that cross functional areas, including those under the performance management program, new hires, severance pay, saved pay, capped salaries, and law enforcement personnel, including availability pay in accordance with 5 U.S.C. 5541.
Researches and advises staff and senior management on pay (and pay waiver) issues relating to benefits and resolves payroll problems.
Provides counseling with regard to particularly sensitive or complex Executive, employee and retiree benefits issues.
Counsels Executives, employees, retirees and their families regarding FDIC and Federal benefits programs to include health, life, vision and dental insurance; Federal retirement systems; the FDIC and Federal Savings Plans; survivors benefits; flexible spending accounts; and other programs.
Conducts formal training sessions, orientations and retirement seminars for Executives, employees/retirees concerning benefits programs and changes that occur. Develops the presentations and adapts them to the needs of the audience, updating the information as changes occur. Conducts meetings, briefings and other oral presentations to Executives, senior management, supervisors, and retirees concerning benefits administration.
Prepares information for the Director of Human Resources' review and concurrence relating to various functional areas within human resources.
Keeps OIG supervisors fully informed in a timely manner.
Shares information and expertise within the OIG.
