The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity to join HFW, a leading global law firm with a strong footprint in the Asia-Pacific region and a long history in international commerce. HFW offers excellent opportunities for professional development and growth, with a diverse and collaborative team of over 600 lawyers, including 180 partners, and over 400 business services professionals based in offices across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific. HFW prides itself on its deep sector-focused expertise as well as its entrepreneurial, creative, and collaborative culture. We are true sector experts. Clients come to us because of our deep industry knowledge and ability to talk their language. Some of our key sectors include but are not limited to: Commodities (which includes arbitration and transaction work), Shipping, and Aerospace.
What To Expect
During this 4-week internship program in July, you will have the opportunity to undergo two seat rotations of two weeks each, subject to availability either in two of our three sector focus groups: Aerospace, Commodities and Shipping. At each rotation, you can expect to gain valuable experience by engaging in various research tasks, including legal research to support ongoing cases and providing updates on recent Singapore/UK judgments or relevant legal matters, that will potentially be used as publications. Working closely with our specialist practice teams, you will also gain practical experience by drafting legal memos and accompanying our teams for client meetings and events where appropriate. At the end of the program, you will be invited to deliver a presentation centred on research projects or pre-assigned case studies.
What We are Looking For
2nd or 3rd year law students passionate about our sector focus, and each an excellent communicator, and a well-rounded team player with great attention to detail.
