Standby out of hours commitment as required

Main Accountabilities:


- Completing electrical maintenance, inspections, fault diagnosis, repair and rectification of RAF Brize Norton vehicles and airfield support equipment.
- Completing the removal and refit of assemblies and components
- working in accordance with maintenance schedules, workshop manuals, technical publications and parts catalogues.


- Ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely fashion and to health and safety, fire, emergency evacuation, quality, risk, and COSHH standards and procedures.


- Maintaining a clear, safe, tidy, effective and efficient working environment.
- Compliance with Health & Safety Instructions.
- Compliance with Serco Operating Procedures.
- Compliance relevant Quality Systems.
- You shall ensure that the maintenance, maintenance recording and services delivered are always complete, correct and “right first time” “every time”.




What you need to do the job:



- Three years of experience in the Vehicle Electrical Maintenance and Fault Diagnosis.
- Ability to effectively and safely complete technical maintenance and rectification tasks.
- Functional IT skills to use Electronic Technical Manuals and to update Maintenance Recording systems.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Eyesight Colour perception. Must be able to achieve Military “CP2” standard for Airfield Driving.

Cargo Handler
RAF Brize Norton – OX18 3LX

At RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire, Serco has been providing multi-activity and engineering support since 1997. RAF Brize Norton is the largest operating base within the Royal Air Force, providing air transport and air-to-air refuelling to the RAF fleet.

We have an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Cargo Handler at RAF Brize Norton in Oxford. You’ll be responsible to help with all aspects of Cargo.


Main accountabilities:


- Checking the safety and serviceability of all mechanical handling aids used by Shift Air Cargo relevant to personal driving qualifications.
- Dragging cargo and mail for outbound flights ensuring that the drag sheets are clearly annotated to show the number of pieces selected for loading. The completed drag sheet is to be signed by the senior person present during the drag.
- Ensuring all items presented for the drag are scanned onto the VITAL scanner.
- Observing all safety aspects concerning the safe movement of vehicles at all times.
- Ensuring the correct handling and segregation as required for any Dangerous Goods (DG) items / Special handling items during load builds & ensuring details are annotated on pallet cards and drag sheets.
- Maintain condition and asset locations of the VITAL scanners / docking cradles and report and damage / missing items.
- Ensuring that correct PPE is always used.






What you'll need to do the role:


- UK Full Driving License
- Full colour perception for airfield
- Experience in IT systems including Microsoft Outlook etc
- Dangerous Goods Awareness (desirable)

About you
 
No previous Lifeguarding experience required, this role is open to anybody who has the desire to be a lifeguard and can meet the minimum requirements in a swim test.
 
 
To pass the swim test you must be able to perform the following:

Jump/dive into deep water

-
Swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds (this is usually 2 lengths of the pool)

-
Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back in deep water (this is usually 8 lengths of the pool)

-
Tread water for 30 seconds

-
Surface dive to the floor of the pool (this is usually no deeper than 2.0m)

-
Climb out unaided without ladder/steps and where the pool design permits


  The next NPLQ course will likely take place at one of the local facilities in weekends throughout March, exact dates to be confirmed, so please make sure you can commit to these dates before applying. Additional courses will be held from April.

Always wanted to be a lifeguard but not had the resources to get your National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.
 
You should read on as we are recruiting for unqualified Lifeguards as we have Full time, Part time and Casual roles available where you can be supported in achieving your National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) worth £300 (subject to signing training agreement), to be able to work as a Lifeguard across Oxford facilities.

This will involve you providing customer care to people of all ages, supervising activities, maintaining high standards of cleanliness in the pool area, and ensuring the safe handling and set up of pool equipment. And of course, when needed – you’ll help to save lives.
 
Without you there can’t be any pool activity. But you won’t be working alone. Our leisure centre has a close knit and supportive team, all working towards providing an inclusive leisure hub for the entire community.

About you
 
No previous Lifeguarding experience required, this role is open to anybody who has the desire to be a lifeguard and can meet the minimum requirements in a swim test.
 
 
To pass the swim test you must be able to perform the following:

-
Jump/dive into deep water

-
Swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds (this is usually 2 lengths of the pool)

-
Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back in deep water (this is usually 8 lengths of the pool)

-
Tread water for 30 seconds

-
Surface dive to the floor of the pool (this is usually no deeper than 2.0m)

-
Climb out unaided without ladder/steps and where the pool design permits


  The next NPLQ course will likely take place at one of the local facilities in weekends throughout March, exact dates to be confirmed, so please make sure you can commit to these dates before applying. Additional courses will be held from April.

Serco at RAF Brize Norton are looking to recruit an Airfield support role within their Airfield Support Team working within the Digital Support Flight. You will be helping to assist with airfield support tasks. We are looking for someone ideally with a mathematical or engineering background.

Here at RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire, Serco has been providing multi-activity and engineering support since 1997. RAF Brize Norton is the largest operating base within the Royal Airforce, providing air transport and air-to-air refueling to the RAF fleet, you will contribute enormously to the vital work carried out at this sire. You will also be part of the wider team, with 5,800 service personnel, 1,200 contractors and 300 civil servants on site.

Main Accountabilities:


- Control, fault finding and minor rectification of Management Radio Equipment masts and antennas, including liaison with the Air Battlespace Spectrum Management Team, Air Radio Reserve and associated equipment Delivery Teams.
- Station and Dependant Unit frequency management; maintain and update frequency allocations.
- Air Traffic Management Equipment Technical Safeguarding
- Participation in Siting Board Meetings including close liaison with the Explosives Safety Representative regards Hazard of Electromagnetic Radiation to Ordnance
- Electromagnetic Radiation Safety.
- Radiation Hazard Safety.
- Crash plan communications including cordon communications.
- Air Traffic Management (ATM) Equipment Network faults including Point to Point Services and ATC Direct Dial Voice Telephony Lines.
- Input into the Airfield Business Continuity Plan(s) including Airfield Recovery Plan.
- Support the provision of deployable Public Address (PA) systems.

What you’ll need to do the role:


- Ability to perform mathematical calculations including Gradient (Slope) of a Straight Line expressed as a Ratio. Desirable, but not essential.

Security and Traffic Officer

Here at Serco, we are currently recruiting Security and Traffic Officer based at RAF Brize Norton. This role is responsible for the effective delivery of the Serco contracted security/reception duties under the instruction of the security shift supervisor as directed by the security manager.

Main responsibilities of the role include:


- Maintain a record of daily duties in a pocketbook which will be maintained daily and may be requested to recall incidents in a Court of Law.
- Control the access and egress of vehicle traffic, military personnel, visitors, contractors and Unit employees at the RAF Brize Norton main gate.
- Control the flow of traffic/pedestrians
- Checking ID cards and vehicle permits to ensure only permitted individuals gain access to the unit.
- Assist in the search of vehicles, visitors and baggage when delegated.
- Provide welcoming service ascertaining the requirements of individual visitors, contractors or deliveries and on the production of the relevant ID
- Respond to and carry out emergency procedures as and when delegated.
- Provide a vehicle escort service to visiting/delivery/collection vehicles for ESA, R&D, Post Room and Air Cargo.
- Checking authority of drivers to access a live airfield area in accordance with directions of the customer.



What you’ll need to do the role:


- UK Driving License for car (essential) no more than 6 points.
- Be able to hold a colour perception category of the required standard to enable the issue of an Airfield Driving Permit.
- Ideally hold a Front-Line SIA License (Not essential)
- Be able to achieve UKSV Security Clearance.

Paint Sprayer (Surface Finish Technician 2)
RAF Benson
Full Time, Permanent (39 hours per week)
Salary £31,500 + 9% shift allowance

Here at Serco, we are currently recruiting a Paint Sprayer to join our team at RAF Benson. This role is responsible for undertaking painting and finishing tasks for the MoD and the delivery of Surface Finish in a wide range of tasks including surface preparation (abrading, paint stripping, Dry Media Stripping abrasive blasting, masking, cleaning, and pre-treatment), and the application of associated finishes on all MoD assets.

The Paint Sprayer must comply with all Quality, Health, Safety, Environmental and Aviation Safety requirements. They will be responsible for notifying Management of any anomalies, failures, defects, and corrosion, which may give rise to a poor-quality product and/or endanger Aviation Safety.

Main responsibilities of the role include:


- Performing surface finish tasks in accordance with the quality policy procedures and standards required.
- Manual (Abrading), Chemical and Media paint removal methods on Aircraft, Aircraft components and numerous MoD ground assets prior to repainting.
- Applying a high standard of paint finish to Aircraft, Aircraft components and numerous MoD assets using various paint schemes utilising modern paint application equipment.
- Ensuring that appropriate health and safety aspects including COSHH, and Risk Assessments are strictly complied with, including control of entry by unauthorised personnel into work areas.
- Ensure that all paints and associated materials are correctly stored in accordance with instructions.
- Be prepared to challenge/report others who display unsafe/unapproved behaviours and practices, including stopping tasks where an unsafe practice or variance from approved process is observed.





What you’ll need to do the role


- Appropriate experience as a RAF Painter & Finisher tradesperson or time served civilian equivalent in the trade of Aircraft/Automotive Body Shop painter.
- NVQ Level 3 in Aeronautical Engineering (Surface Finish pathway) or equivalent qualification.
- A Full UK Driving Licence is desirable.
- Ability to follow defined procedures and work instructions.

Paint Sprayer (Surface Finish Technician 2)
RAF Brize Norton OX18 3LX
Full Time, Permanent (39 hours per week)
Salary between £29,000-£31,000 plus benefits

Here at Serco, we are currently recruiting a Paint Sprayer to join our team at RAF Brize Norton. This role is responsible for undertaking painting and finishing tasks for the MoD and the delivery of Surface Finish in a wide range of tasks including surface preparation (abrading, paint stripping, Dry Media Stripping abrasive blasting, masking, cleaning, and pre-treatment), and the application of associated finishes on all MoD assets.

The Paint Sprayer must comply with all Quality, Health, Safety, Environmental and Aviation Safety requirements. They will be responsible for notifying Management of any anomalies, failures, defects, and corrosion, which may give rise to a poor-quality product and/or endanger Aviation Safety.

Main responsibilities of the role include:


- Performing surface finish tasks in accordance with the quality policy procedures and standards required.
- Manual (Abrading), Chemical and Media paint removal methods on Aircraft, Aircraft components and numerous MoD ground assets prior to repainting.
- Applying a high standard of paint finish to Aircraft, Aircraft components and numerous MoD assets using various paint schemes utilising modern paint application equipment.
- Ensuring that appropriate health and safety aspects including COSHH, and Risk Assessments are strictly complied with, including control of entry by unauthorised personnel into work areas.
- Ensure that all paints and associated materials are correctly stored in accordance with instructions.
- Be prepared to challenge/report others who display unsafe/unapproved behaviours and practices, including stopping tasks where an unsafe practice or variance from approved process is observed.





What you’ll need to do the role


- Appropriate experience as a RAF Painter & Finisher tradesperson or time served civilian equivalent in the trade of Aircraft/Automotive Body Shop painter.
- NVQ Level 3 in Aeronautical Engineering (Surface Finish pathway) or equivalent qualification.
- A Full UK Driving Licence is desirable.
- Ability to follow defined procedures and work instructions.
- Desirable – Experience working in a Low Observable (LO) disciplines on F35 Aircraft

You will play a vital role in the Logistical support of the Royal Air Force, helping to fulfil its operational and peacetime obligations. You will be responsible for the distribution, handling, and stock control of clothing and materials, helping to sustain a modern Whole Force team. You will work alongside Serco and RAF colleagues to achieve the daily operational output within the storage and warehouse areas as well as within an office environment.
Main accountabilities:

- Delivery of excellent customer service
- Frequent use of IT systems to manage emails and stock control
- Storekeeping and day to day management of stock
- Issuing & receipt of goods
- Ensure the section is correctly resourced, this includes managing holiday requests.
- First line management responsibility of Clothing Stores personnel in line with the Serco values and behaviours.
- Act as the immediate escalation focal point for any customer or team concerns, dealing with these concerns in a swift and professional manner, engaging with the Logistics & Supply Manager as appropriate.

What you'll need to do the role:

- Full UK driving licence
- Must be able to achieve SC Vetting status
