Your new role
You will join a professional property team consisting of building surveyors, quantity surveyors, estate managers, development professionals and more, working collaboratively in order to deliver maintenance and improvement projects across the portfolio. As a retrofit property officer, you will be tasked with a wide range of responsibilities associated with energy improvements across the estate. Your work could range from undertaking inspections of buildings ahead of EPC assessments, ensuring that surveys are arranged and paperwork is completed and filed ahead of any surveying activity taking place, and checking completed assessments to ensure quality. In addition, you will help to prepare for a larger deep retrofit project across 10 identified properties. This will provide an opportunity for you to assist with the coordination and management of projects and the preparation before works take place.

The purpose of the role is to provide professional advice on property and construction. To undertake minor works and planned maintenance projects, ranging in financial values from £1k - £1m.

Key Responsibilities:

Pro-actively monitor and report the progress of works to ensure quality and that projects are completed within the timescales and costs agreed. Take appropriate action to achieve adherence as required.
Operate in compliance with the Councils procedures, best practices and any legislation current at the time.
Prepare and deliver a variety of schemes to the required budget and programme and to predetermined standards.

We are working with a Tier 1 national contractor on an new major scheme near Oxford and they are in need of a Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage the team and oversee the scheme.

The project is a £30 million new build school bid, won and procured from the DFE framework.

We are working with a Tier 1 national contractor on an new major scheme near Didcot and they are in need of a Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage the team and oversee the scheme.

The project is a £20 million new build steel frame office and laboratory development and is the first phase of a long planned redevelopment scheme and the client have 2 further schemes and phases totalling £35 million to undertake upon completion of the initial scheme the idea is to retain the team and move seamlessly onto phase 2 which will be negotiated whilst on site.

The scheme is due to start in the late Summer 2023 so there is an opportunity join now and start procurement of the major packages and set the scheme up at really early stages before prestart and then you will be running the scheme from a commercial perspective.

The role will be to work with the design and delivery teams to ensure the scheme is delivered on time and to budget to a client that has potentially 2 or 3 more schemes to follow on in a negotiated format should this be a success. You will be looking after a project Qs and an Assistant Qs on site and have overview and responsibility for the commercial health of the projects including managing sub contract packages, procurement of materials and plant, remeasure, valuations, payments, managing variation accounts, forecasting, CVR's etc.
