Objectives
Reporting to President, you will serve as the main regional focal point for finance, planning, and administration related topics. You will be also responsible for the business unitdivision operational controlling and for site controlling of 5 multi- operating division (O
D) production sites. When it comes to financial evaluations related to strategies, investments, sustainability, and corporate development, you will be the main contact person for corporate areas. You will support the business unitorganization including managing directors on LtO (license to operate) topics and regional governance when or if applicable. It will be part of your role to lead and help defining focus areas and priorities connected to corporate/ business strategies, steer regional business targets, and to create transparency of regional business performance. In addition, you will act as Board member of selected legal entities.
Responsibilities
· Planning, controlling, and reporting related to: division business unit, multi-OD sites, regional business performance, CAPEX, operational and investment planning.
· Drive and perform strategic analysis, economic evaluations for investments into fixed assets and for changes of business models.
· Drive and coordinate any Board approval process as well as all divisional approval process as related to the CapEx or investment plan.
· Lead and challenge the assessment of investments related to CO2 emissions in line with BASF global guidance and methodology.
· Focal point for Asia controlling community and Regional Business Unit (RBU) controlling related topics.
· Provide strategic insights and recommendations to the senior leadership team to make strategic decisions.
· Provide trainings on financial analysis and investments/ economic evaluations to secure knowledge transfer and to further develop BASF talents.
· Regional support to managing directors and RBU to ensure license to operate by effective compliance on country and regional level.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in business administration, economics, finance, or a related field.
· Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
· Leadership capabilities to manage high performing team members, multiple priorities, and stakeholders.
· Strong experience in controlling of regional division, Strategic Business Unit, Regional Business Unit or Global Business Unit.
· Working experience with business plans, evaluation of investment projects, financial analysis, and reporting
· Good knowledge of LtO processes (e.g.: O2C, P2P, B2R, R2R, etc.)
· Strong ability and experience to work closely with senior stakeholders.
· Deep experience and understanding of finance and business management in domains across risk and asset management, strategies, and operations.
· Excellent communication, interpersonal and teaming skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
· Highly organized with demonstrated project management experience.
· Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
