We have a great opportunity for a Cluster Human Resources Officer to join us in the Bristol area at Leonardo Hotels. As a member of the HR team, you would provide quality HR support, coaching and guidance for your cluster and assist the Cluster HR Manager with the delivery of the HR strategy.

In this position you would be working within the HR department, which covers our Bristol, Exeter, Plymouth, Swindon, Cardiff, Cheltenham and our two Southampton properties. You’ll be primarily based in Bristol, with occasional travel to other hotels in your cluster, where necessary. Presence is important in our hotels and offices; we promote an open-door policy within all HR departments!

This is an HR generalist role, so you’ll be involved in many different activities within the department! Here are some of the role’s key responsibilities:

• Recruitment and Selection: support the end-to-end recruitment process including shortlisting, arranging interviews, onboarding activities and reference checks
• Compliance: maintain personnel files as appropriate, ensure risk assessments are carried out and comply with company policies, procedures and initiatives
• Learning and Development: support the delivery of new starter induction, and use the Learning Management System to carry out reporting and ensure all admin is completed, such as keying promotions, removing leavers and maintaining training attendance records
• Payroll: resolve any payroll queries, ensure all working time is recorded and advise line managers on any changes to payroll processes
• Employee Relations: support/coach line managers with welfare meetings, investigations and any other formal meetings, support with maternity process
• Engagement: produce monthly calendar of events for the hotels and support the development and delivery of the HR strategy for each of the hotels within the cluster
• Deputise for the Cluster Human Resources Manager where appropriate

An excellent Cluster HR Officer will have:

• Previous experience in an HR Administrator/Officer position
• CIPD qualification, or working towards one with up-to-date knowledge of UK employment legislation
• Self-motivated and organised with the ability to work well as part of a team- you must be a great team player!
• An understanding of good HR practice and application
• Ability to act on own initiative and effectively prioritise own work

• Degree in Human Resources / Business Studies

• Minimum 5 years of work experience, with a minimum of 3 years at a managerial capacity. Prior work experiences in the manufacturing sector is preferred.

• Familiar with MOM regulations and HR best practices

• Good verbal and written communication skill in English. Able to speak in Japanese will be an advantage.

Job Purpose

The successful candidate will be instrumental in achieving programmatic effectiveness, efficiency, and success by coordinating, organizing, communicating, and managing human rights initiatives, including by strategizing with diverse stakeholders, within and outside of the company; acting as a subject matter expert for the company, including by developing informational material and providing training; initiating, pursuing, and overseeing successful completion of program initiatives; managing resources; advocating for program objectives; and balancing reasonable business judgment with program objectives

Job Description

• Initiate, track, manage, and maintain detailed and accurate records of key human rights initiatives, including maintaining ownership of related files and systems.
• Track and manage human rights audits and subsequent corrective actions for TechnipFMC suppliers, including coordinating with TechnipFMC’s third party auditor, TechnipFMC suppliers, and internal stakeholders around the world.
• Manage a large amount of program data; organize, assess, and validate program data; assume primary responsibility for delivering program data to stakeholders, internally and externally, of varying levels of sophistication in various ways, often with short notice.
• Conduct human rights due diligence and evaluate and grade self-assessment questionnaire responses.
• Develop relationships with key stakeholders, internally and externally, to achieve programmatic goals. Regularly communicate with internal stakeholders, such as management, peers, business managers, and Internal Audit, on programmatic initiatives and developments.
• Maintain subject matter expertise and deliver communications and training to relevant stakeholders. Stay abreast of new human rights and sustainability regulations and best practices.
• Lead monthly review meetings to present program results, drive program/organizational improvements, and collaborate with stakeholders to develop action plans.
• Provide thorough, accurate, and timely responses to client, supplier, and other third-party human rights questionnaires.
• Pursue, track, and recommend approaches to emerging human rights matters. Ensure operational adherence to program objectives and drive accountability for human rights program success.
• Provide human rights subject matter expertise to the Legal & Compliance, Sourcing & Procurement, HSE, and business teams for regulatory reporting and client and supplier engagement.
• Contribute to program and system development according to the company’s drive for simplification, standardization, and industrialization, including as it relates to company policies, procedures, processes, and digital tools.

You are meant for this job if:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in program or project management. Experience in oil and gas and/or sustainability is preferred.
• Substantive knowledge of, and experience with prevailing business human rights laws and regulations, e.g., the UK Modern Slavery Act, the Norwegian Transparency Act, and the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act, and international human rights standards, e.g., the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the ILO Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.
• Good understanding of oilfield services and/or manufacturing business operations.
• Ability to independently analyze data and present it in a succinct, organized, professional, and compelling manner.
• Experience developing and delivering training programs with the ability to present complex information in a persuasive and understandable manner.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment and take initiative to address/mitigate risks.
• Strong critical thinking skills; ability to apply proper rigor to decision making, including when to seek third-party review or guidance.
