• Providing professional advice and support, and engaging, influencing and coaching the workforce to promote continual development and improvement in safety culture.
• Ensuring risk/hazard registers are maintained for all facilities
• Facilitating a consistent approach to risk management ensuring workers are trained and using risk management tools, including Take 5’s and JHA’s.
• Facilitating the reporting and recording of all incidents, hazards and near misses.
• Ensuring incident investigations are completed as required, identifying root causes and corrective actions to prevent re-occurrence. 
• Conducting regular visits to all areas of responsibility interacting with the management team and workforce to determine suitability of processes, risk management, safety behaviours, field inspections and system audits.

SGS is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician to fill a full-time position based in Notting Hill, Melbourne. The role is responsible for the analytical testing and reporting for soil, water, air and other sample matrices conducted in the Inorganic, Organic and Radio Chemistry Sections of Environmental Laboratory. This involves utilizing both conventional analytical methods and modern instrumental techniques, such as GC, GC/MSMS, HPLC, LC/MSMS, ICP/MS, and FIA.

Your key responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to:

• Undertake sample preparation, analytical and radio chemistry analysis and reporting.
• Perform laboratory equipment calibrations.
• Understand and comply to general laboratory QA/QC criteria and NATA accreditation requirements.

• Provide high quality support and assistance to clients and receive and dispatch samples and deliveries to and from clients and couriers.

SGS is currently seeking a Laboratory Technical Officer to fill a full-time position based in Notting Hill, Melbourne. The role involves providing duties and technical support within the Calibration, Sales, and Repair Service Business Unit, while ensuring the maintenance of high levels of customer service for both internal and external clients

Your key responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to:

• Undertake calibrations of protection level radiation monitors (survey, contamination and electronic personal dosimeters).
• Prepare calibration certificates for review by QA staff to high standards
• Maintain records of work completed accurately in job folder
• Get suitably trained in lab operations under the guidance of other lab officer or team leader

• Plan, coordinate, schedule and perform field sampling and field-testing in conjunction with Field Sampling Supervisor
• Ensure field sampling equipment is always maintained to ensure safe operation

Searching for a Microbiologist to be responsible for all aspects of the Microbiological testing conducted in the Notting Hill Water Laboratory. This includes performing routine and non routine analyses, trouble shooting, method validation/development and staff training to deliver quality and timely laboratory results.

Your key responsibilities in this role include, however not limited to:

• Understanding of the processes in the preparation and analysis of samples by fire assay and ICP. Full training is provided
• Day to day upkeep of analytical and sample preparation equipment. 
• Delivery of quality samples to both internal and external customers. 
• Understanding of assay methods and recognition of sample types. 
• All functions to be performed in correct numerical order, while adopting QC requirements and avoiding potential contamination. 
• Expected to completed QC and process paperwork adequately.
