Leidos has a current job opportunity for a Software Engineer supporting NASA on the Cybersecurity and Privacy Enterprise Support Services Contract (CyPrESS) at Kennedy Space Center. This position supports the Cybersecurity Infrastructure Team and will be working with NASA applications which ensure proper storage and usage of NASA security policies and processes.
Position Summary:
Working on the CyPrESS contract, you will work with Project Managers, IT Security Leads, Network Engineers, and Information Assurance Professionals to develop and implement cybersecurity standards and procedures. You’ll support analysis, design, and development of security features for key systems and support the integration and implementation of cybersecurity solutions for enterprise systems across NASA. You’ll assist a team in implementation of Change Requests to existing NASA application which store NASA cybersecurity documentation which is accessible to over 2000 end users. This position will require individuals who can occasionally support after-hours work. Candidates can sit remotely and be expected to travel to a NASA center, Kennedy Space Center, on occasion.
Primary Responsibilities:
Efficiently field and execute difficult development tasks and has ability to work in an integrated team.
Implementation of Change Requests inside pre-existing NASA applications which are used to store cybersecurity documents, policies, procedures, and more.
Working in a team environment, collaborating on requirements, developing timelines/schedules, and implementation of new requirements.
Application development and maintenance of pre-existing NASA applications.
Working across multiple teams within the CyPrESS program and supporting other Development efforts.
Manage servers and databases.
Assessment and authorization for NIST requirements.
Documentation of processes, procedures, and policies.
Basic Qualifications:
3-6 years of IT experience and experience in contributing to multiple development applications including support to cyber security applications (e.g., IMS, DNS, Mail Server, GRC), specifically in application development and maintenance.
Ability to follow a change management process and implement changes into existing platforms.
Aptitude for Software configuration and understanding business process requirements.
Troubleshooting and analytical skills demonstrated by the ability to assimilate new information, understand complex topics, and arrive at sound resolution.
Technical writing and researching skills related to communicating problems and documenting processes.
Server Administration experience, ability to troubleshoot existing application and database issues,
Experience with cybersecurity applications including understanding of user experience.
Experience with .NET, C++, Java, Python, PowerShell, or similar.
Computer Science or Information Technology bachelor’s degree
OPM Tier 2 or higher LOC, must be a US citizen and be able to achieve a public trust.
Excellent Communication skills
Ability to work with upper management and interface with the customer.
