Shape better services as a Pensions Consultant - Actuarial Consulting
You can be home based, work from one of our hub offices (London, Leeds, Reading or Bristol), or have a blended base of home/office.
We are looking for a client-facing pensions professional to join the team. You will come from either an actuarial, pensions consulting, pensions administration or technical pensions background.
We can offer full study support if you want to continue or start the actuarial exams.

Our teams are trusted as scheme actuaries to over 200 pension schemes. Our actuarial services include advice on pensions strategy and funding position, regular valuations, journey planning, de-risking, GMP equalisation, and integrated risk management. The team the successful candidate will join is a multi-disciplined team that also provide secretarial, consulting and project work for pension scheme trustees.
Key duties / responsibilities
• Develop excellent relationships with client portfolio and understand their needs and objectives
• Make a significant personal contribution to the development of the team's consulting capability, collateral and people
• Able to effectively communicate complex and technical issues to clients and colleagues
• Support provisions of actuarial and other strategic advice to trustees of defined benefit pension schemes based upon an expert understanding of their situation and relevant technical, regulatory and statutory requirements
• Maintain a client focus and concern for quality, which manifests itself in a high degree of client satisfaction and client/business retention
• Take responsibility for own client work and projects
• Support sales objective and develop personal and business sales pipelines
What are we looking for:
Essential
• Pensions Industry background
• Knowledge of pension benefits legislation
• Strong client facing communication skills
• Excellent analytical skills
• Advanced excel skills (vlook ups, bulk data manipulation)
Desirable
• Maths based qualifications
• Knowledge of PFaroe actuarial consulting software
