Tech Observer Asia Pacific (Tech Observer) is an end-to-end contract research organisation with offices in Europe, India and the USA.
Tech Observer’s medical communications team in Singapore is made up of like-minded individuals who enjoy telling stories of science and medicine. They are passionate about our work and take pride in creating scientifically accurate and informative content for the healthcare industry. Their various backgrounds and skills complement each another, which helps us support the needs of our diversified client base and address the evolving challenges that they face.
Our medical communications team has been working with clients in Singapore, Asia Pacific, Europe and North America from pharmaceutical, medical devices and biotechnology settings to produce high quality scientific materials including close to 100 peer-reviewed articles. This productive and successful team works on projects from a wide range of therapeutic area including oncology, cardiovascular, endocrinology, aesthetics, consumer health, and digital health.
We are now looking for an analyst intern to be part of the team.
Through this internship, you will have the opportunity to experience the important role of an analyst and how the function works closely and inter-dependently with the medical communications and business development teams in a medical communications agency. You will receive training and real-time experience in research, literature review, analysis, scientific communication and cross-collaborations skills across a variety of project types (manuscripts for peer-reviewed journal articles, slide decks, literature review and data extraction etc.)
Project Scope :
○ Conduct various manner of desk research, including targeted literature searches, systematic literature searches, publication or competitor landscape research, target journal search etc.
○ Curate, develop and communicate relevant research information through spreadsheets, verbal communication, reports/slide decks etc.
○ Support in conceptualizing research required based on presenting context/needs, and developing appropriate search strategies, keywords, spreadsheet headers, search strings etc. to facilitate effective and systematic research
○ Learn to employ different research tools, search engines (e.g. PubMed), or sources of information (e.g. peer-reviewed literature, press releases etc.) according to the specific needs and purposes of research
○ To support in research, scoping/alignment, conceptualization, manuscript outlines, preparation of kick-off call/alignment decks through the early stage of projects to any narrative restructuring/problem-solving efforts subsequently.
○ To understand and appreciate the role, context and value of medical communications within the wider context of drug development, medical affairs and medical education, and to begin to understand the key phases, patterns, and common strategies throughout the lifecycle of a medical product.
Prerequisites
Background
○ Current undergraduate in science, communications or business-related fields
Suitable skills/competencies
○ Good written, oral and interpersonal communication
○ Basic research, interpretation, analysis and presentation skills
○ Ability to assess, scope and systematize questions logically
○ Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks according to needs
○ Basic design skills (e.g. PPT, canva etc.)
