Major Responsibilities:
Analyzes new technologies, market assessments components and less complex products using existing basic analytical tools and methods to improve existing designs and expand existing product lines.
Assist in Material Cost Out and Simplification programs.

The RBS Specialist III is the Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement Specialist. Successful candidates will make immediate contributions through enhancing key business processes the add value to Our Customers, Our Shareholders, and Our Associates. The Application Engineer I is responsible for performing specific engineering and analytical tasks directed toward the proper application and selection of Regal Rexnord Products. This position will focus on our couplings vertical market.
Responsibilities
Identifies and solves problems presented by customers, customer service, manufacturing, quality, sales, and engineering.
Responsible for knowing the Regal Rexnord brand coupling products from top to bottom, inside and out.
Works with customers to determine the best coupling for their application, complete technical bids, support customer training, support product failure/troubleshooting, and be the subject matter expert for technical support.
Partners with manufacturing to determine machining, balancing and material requirements and interacts with various areas of the company in obtaining information for quotations.
Re-rates and modifies existing Coupling designs.
Analyzes and determines feasibility of design modifications and/or non-standard configurations.
Coordinates project inquiries and quotations, which may include a multitude of Regal Rexnord Products
Provides review and analysis of customer & industry technical specifications and applications to provide product selection with necessary options and accessories.
Develops and follows standard procedures to facilitate scalable commercial & technical support.
Provides support for field representatives that will facilitate receipt of orders.
Assists in training field representatives and new employees.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Experience and Skill Required
Minimum of 0-2 years of relevant experience.
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology.
Ability to learn and become familiar with AGMA, DIN, ISO, ANSI, API, ASTM, including many other industrial standards used by Regal Rexnord and the Regal Rexnord customer base.
Able to able to read and interpret Regal Rexnord drawings and customer drawings, including reading and interpreting design prints and customer specifications.
Computer proficiency in MS Office, Salesforce.com or other CRM, SAP/Oracle or other ERP.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to be an active listener.
Flexibility with work hours to maintain a minimal backlog.
Some domestic travel may be required.
Desired:
Previous engineering experience working in heavy equipment industries preferred.
Experience with couplings or related power transmission equipment is highly desired.

Key Accountabilities
· Work from process sheets, blueprints, setup sheets, setup cards, machine status boards, and verbal as well as written instructions.
· Machine and install or re-cut chuck jaws as required.
· Insert and secure tooling in machine turrets and preform machine set ups.
· Download and upload programs into machine, and make minor programming adjustments as needed.
· Operate different types of computerized numerical controls to manufacture a finished machined product by performing a wide range of machining operations within tight tolerances.

Qualifications
· This position requires the applicant to be a US Person with a US permanent residence. A US Person is a US Citizen or Green card holder.
· Previous experience and demonstrated proficiency in operating CNC lathe, CNC mill machines, or resistance spot welder (any combination of two machines), with intermediate knowledge and experience with setting up machines.
· Requires a high school education or equivalent experience.
· Must be reliable with minimal call-offs during the year, we value and expect good attendance
· Minimum of 2 years of related experience, and knowledge of machining principles and methods for computer numerical controlled machine tools required
· Demonstrated ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
· Must be able to read and interpret work instructions and blue prints in English.
· External candidates will be required to pass a Machinist test which measures mechanical aptitude.

Brief Description
This Engineering role reports to the Quality Assurance Department at Regal Rexnord’s Aerospace plant in the Downers Grove suburb of Chicago (northwest suburbs). This aerospace plant is walking distance to the Metra Train Station.
The Supplier Quality Engineer provides support and assistance to all departments in Quality related issues in addition to assistance in improving the quality system and supporting quality programs.
This Quality Engineer role will be focused on working with our suppliers to solve immediate quality issues as well as lead supplier development activities. In this position, you can make immediate contributions in enhancing the current quality program by providing daily support in Quality related issues.
Key Accountabilities
Utilize data driven problem solving methods to improve key quality metrics such as internal and external PPM, Scrap and Customer Satisfaction.
Facilitating suppliers in the collection, compilation, and data analysis necessary to determine both root cause and corrective action to prevent recurrence.
Conduct reviews of nonconforming product as part of the material review board.
Conduct supplier audits and assessments.
Develop and refine receiving inspection plans.
Develop and lead qualification plans for outsourcing and supplier change activities.
Develop supplier quality system requirements in alignment with related customer requirements.
Drive a culture of quality at the source whereby all associates assume ownership for the quality of their work, services, and products.
Assist in identifying and driving continuous improvement opportunities within the facility and at our suppliers’ locations.
Job Requirements
Capabilities and Success Factors
This position requires the applicant to be a US Person with a US permanent residence. A US Person is a US Citizen or Green card holder
Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline
10 or more years of Supplier Quality Assurance work experience
Able to support at least 30% domestic travel
An in-depth understanding of applicable quality systems; e.g. AS9100 or ISO9001
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
10 or more years of experience conducting root cause analysis and formal problem solving techniques
Experience facilitating the use of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools with suppliers (including SPC, GR&R, DOE, FMEA, Control Plans, Cpk, GD&T, DMAIC, First Article Inspection)
Demonstrated success in the ability to consistently multitask
Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management
10 or more years of experience in various manufacturing environments such as machining, brazing, stamping, and finishing.
Understanding of conventional measurement methods applicable to the inspection of purchased components and secondary processes.
Capable of interpreting engineering part drawings including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
Experience working in a lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environment is desirable
