The Extrusion & Converting Sales Specialist will assist in the development and execution of strategic plans and activities focused on selling M&CS Systems and components within the assigned territory. They will also assist in the development of commercial sales tools that allow for more effective programs and processes in line with NBS Next and M&CS goals. Markets served in this role to include film extrusion and converting applications.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Sells at a level equal to, or greater than, the territory sales budget. Major selling activities include:
- Qualifying leads and prospects
- Equipment demonstrations
- Testing for proper application
- Surveying field application
- Preparing and presenting proposals and project justifications
- Closing the sale
- Develop an industry network to increase territory awareness
- Ensures the proper installation and start-up of all systems through proper utilization of technical personnel and personnel from ancillary equipment suppliers
- Coordinates the training of customer personnel in proper use, maintenance and service of equipment
- Assists in the development of internal and external training materials.
- Maintains detailed knowledge of Nordson products, prices, policies and procedures
- Knows which products can be most advantageously used with various finishing and coating products
- Identify best practice which can be systematized and scaled across the business, including the development of additional sales programs.
- Act as liaison between Sales, Marketing, and Product Teams.
- Create written content to educate sales team and advance tools such as cases studies, competitive information fact sheets, product collateral.
- Provides customer service in emergency situations
- Assists in training of other employees as assigned
- Prepares and promptly submits administrative and technical reports as directed
- Maintains personal appearance, test equipment and vehicle in a professional manner
- Maintains detailed and accurate customer files
Education & Experience Required:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or 8 years of capital equipment sales experience or Associates degree and 4 years of capital equipment sales experience is required
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years successful experience in sales, preferably in the finishing industry, capital equipment, or a closely related field.
Preferred Skills and Abilities
- Sales acumen: Ability to sell at or above the territory sales budget by qualifying leads and prospects, conducting equipment demonstrations, testing for proper application, surveying field application, preparing and presenting proposals and project justifications, and closing sales.
- Technical expertise: Coordinates the proper installation and start-up of all systems through the utilization of technical personnel and personnel from ancillary equipment suppliers. Assists in the development of internal and external training materials.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Acts as a liaison between sales, marketing, and product teams.
- Customer service: Provides exceptional customer service in emergency situations and ensures the training of customer personnel in proper use, maintenance, and service of equipment.
- Administrative skills: Prepares and promptly submits administrative and technical reports as directed, maintains detailed and accurate customer files, and maintains personal appearance, test equipment, and vehicle in a professional manner.
