Position Summary
The Temp M&E Facility Tech will assist the M&E Facility Executive in coordinating operations and maintenance activities including retrofitting works in the facilities to ensure clean, safe and functional environments. You may be tasked to perform risk assessments to ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) practices. You will communicate with relevant personnel in response to requests and feedback from facility users. You also liaise with third-party service deliverers to ensure repair or maintenance works are carried out timely and complies with quality and safety standards. You are a good communicator and people- and service-oriented. You work at designated properties during business hours but is required to be on-call after office hours in case of emergencies. You assist with maintenance activities associated with plant turnaround and may specialize in electrical, rotating, static or instrumentation and control related maintenance work. This position applies safe system of work (SSoW) procedures and risk control measures to ensure work activities are carried out safely in compliance with relevant regulations.
Essential Job Functions
1. Conduct Quality Risk Assessments (QRA) in accordance with cGMP regulations.
2. Ensure adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Emergency Response Plans (ERP) established.
3. Participate and assist in maintenance of all significant planned and ad hoc maintenance events for the facility and ensure these activities are performed in a controlled and proven method to ensure reliability of critical processes supported by these systems.
4. Coordinate and integrate aspects of electrical and mechanical systems, operations, maintenance, for all critical and non-critical mechanical/electrical systems.
5. Validate all maintenance work carried out by contractors and ensure compliance to prescribed standards.
6. Perform routine facility activities such as inventory control (spare parts); Critical system checks and functional tests.
7. Respond and take action in response to facility crisis management activities such as: Power outages, fire alarms, ACMV failures.
8. Coordinate movements of building assets.
9. Supervise routine maintenance services of third-party service providers.
10. Communicate with relevant personnel for timely actions in response to user requests and feedback.
11. Review documentation on procedures and schedules of custodial services.
12. Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure overall compliance of manufacturing processes with required cGMP.
13. Assist F&E Facility Executive with day-to-day operations of cGMP Utility equipment and systems.
14. Assist F&E Facility Executive with routine environmental monitoring tasks.
Experience Requirements
1. Possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
2. More than 5 years’ experience in Bio-Lifesciences environment. Candidates with MNC or GMP experience will have an advantage.
3. Working understanding of Lab/GMP operations, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Supply Chain and related functions.
4. Involvement in setting up a new site or project management will be an added advantage.
5. Applicant with knowledge in vendor management will have an advantage.
6. Position and title will be accorded per work or industry experience of the candidate.
7. Self starter, self motivated - effective in being an individual contributor and team player with other functions.
8. Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner.
9. Able to interpret control schematics and perform troubleshooting and hands on for minor repairs/maintenance.
10. Hands on experience for facility and utility systems (process gas/purified water/ACMV/HVAC) and laboratory equipment/instruments will be preferred.
