Work hours: 36 - 48 hours per week (12-hour rotating day shift: 2 nights on, 2 nights off, and every other weekend)

Please note, this role is a “shift pattern” meaning 4 days on and 4 days off which includes weekends at the Crawley site.
What you’ll do at Elekta
As a Manufacturing Systems Test Engineer, your main responsibility will be to test and commission linear accelerators, in addition to:
Creating and maintaining machine data as per released procedures and work instructions.
Fault finding and fixing machine issues.
To ensure adequate control and disposition of non-conforming material and provide the necessary documentation
Maintaining a clean and safe working environment, taking responsibility for tools, equipment, shelter and any product being tested
Participating and contributing to the DQT process
Carrying out necessary duties for the benefit, maintenance and progression of the test department such as monthly interlock checks, housekeeping audits, Lean activities, assisting with equipment calibration, training of new engineers and representing the department in meetings
Assisting other functions within the business such as production, pre-test, spares, service or training as directed by the Manufacturing Manger — Systems Test. This could include the need to assist with testing products, fault finding, assisting other departments or personnel and possibly a need to work off site including outside of the UK.
The right stuff
As a Manufacturing Systems Test Engineer, you’d need to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and problem-solving skills to be able to carry out the following tasks:
Confirmation that the product being tested meets the Production Test Schedule (PTS), fixing issues where the equipment does not meet the PTS requirements.
Entering of test results and sign off in the Manufacturing Execution System (MES), confirming the product meets all requirements prior to shipment.
Raise and manage NCR's and Concessions as required.
Contribute towards the maintenance and improvement of the PTS.
If trained, formally accept machines after completion of their testing.
If qualified (Radiation Protection Supervisor) — to certify as safe, assemblies and products that have been exposed to X-Rays.
What you bring
To be successful at this role, you will have:
OND/HNC/Degree in Electronics/Physics based subject or an equivalent.
Ability to understand and operate complex systems equipment.
Ability to fault find complex systems equipment at both component and machine level.
Experience in any of the following fields would be beneficial — Linear Accelerators, Control systems, High Voltage equipment, Mechanical equipment, Software applications for complex electro/mechanical equipment or Vacuum systems.

Job Purpose
Plan and execute the requirements of the Strategic Business Unit and the Cell. The position will be held accountable for cost, delivery, and quality of operations on all equipment as directed by the Cell Leader.
Essential Duties
Plan, execute and report priorities
Man-hour estimates.
Reacting to changing priorities.
Record-keeping and reporting.
Demonstrates initiative to learn industry and project requirements.
Provide general production support for machining and/or assembly area as needed
Evaluate upgrades for machining or assembly.
Troubleshoot issues (quality, efficiency, etc.) on assembly line or machine.
Communication liaison between engineering, production, marketing, purchasing, etc. and cell leader
Collaborates efforts with team members and works as a team player.
Provide technical assistance.
Provide hands-on problem resolutions.
Report and facilitate correction of out-of-specification conditions.
Determine the proper processes
Create and analyze standards and operation layouts.
Select and implement proper fixturing and tooling for machining and/or assembly job.
Perform capital equipment justification as needed.
Plan and implement preventive and corrective actions for reducing scrap, rework, and down time.
Research and implement new technological ideas to keep the cell continuously improving.
Recommend and implement process improvements.
Other duties as assigned.

B.S. Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
1-3 years of manufacturing experience with demonstrated ability to produce. results per project schedules and cost targets.

Essential Functions:
People
• Maintain safe and well-organized workplace and execute autonomous maintenance activities in given scope according to Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
