Our client, a leading European multinational corporation (MNC) in the engineering sector, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Inside Sales and Business Development Manager to lead their internal sales team and drive business growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales management, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in business development.
Responsibilities:
Inside Sales Management:
- Set clear department goals and objectives, defining key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Monitor, manage, and improve KPI metrics including sales, quotation and order throughput times, customer satisfaction, and hit rate.
- Continuously enhance processes, procedures, and work instructions.
- Ensure compliance with internal control systems.
- Identify and proactively address procedural and policy gaps.
- Foster a 24/7 customer service mindset.
- Measure and enhance individual inside sales performance in areas such as responsiveness, accuracy, sales, and efficiency.
- Coordinate and manage interactions with other departments (IT, Accounting, Engineering, Product Management, Business Development).
- Align priorities with Engineering and Operations.
- Manage interactions with regional entities (Headquarters, India, etc.).
- Implement and refine pricing policies.
Business Development:
- Oversee the business generation process, including quotations, follow-up, technical support, and sales leads for the SEA and Japanese markets.
- Develop comprehensive quotation proposals highlighting technical advantages and customer benefits.
- Manage communications with the External Sales team.
- Define customer requirements and goals at the start of the quotation process in collaboration with the External Sales team.
- Foster an “opportunity ownership mentality.”
- Initiate and manage proactive selling activities targeting customers with low sales, new customers, and key product promotions.
- Conduct price negotiations in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.
- Manage customer complaint logs and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Obtain customer feedback through surveys, meetings, and teleconferences.
- Establish and implement business improvement ideas and lean management practices.
Order Handling:
- Monitor and ensure timely delivery of orders.
- Manage and charge for change orders.
- Ensure quick turnaround for errors, mistakes, and customer requests.
- Handle and coordinate Return Material Authorizations (RMAs).
Coaching, Education & Training:
- Coach and train Internal Sales team members on efficient processes and policies.
- Build a technically competent Internal Sales team through coaching and training on product knowledge, applications, and customer value.
- Train team members on selling skills, including cross-selling.
- Develop and promote proactive and effective customer service to build strong and lasting customer relationships.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Electronic or Instrumentation Engineering, Technology, Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience with a proven internal sales track record.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English; German is an advantage
- Customer-focused attitude with responsiveness, accuracy, and customer friendliness.
- Proficiency in office management software (MS Office, MS Project, CRM, etc.).
- High degree of professionalism.
