This is an intermediate level position responsible for assisting clients in raising funds in the capital markets, as well as in providing strategic advisory services for mergers, acquisitions and other types of financial transactions in coordination with the Institutional Banking team. The Investment Banking Associate also serves as an intermediary in trading for clients. The overall objective of this role is to act as a strategic advisor to our clients by formulating investment strategies and raising capital for clients.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of relevant experience in real estate and portfolio management
- Advanced MS Excel modeling skills; proficiency with MS office required; Familiar with database technology
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or closely related areas of Business Administration
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a rapidly changing environment in order to meet deadlines
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

- Citi’s Global CRE Finance group is seeking an intermediate level portfolio / asset manager. The position will be based in NY and will be focused on Citi’s balance sheet exposures globally (NAM, EMEA and APAC).
Select Responsibilities:
- Manage all portfolio management functions throughout the post-closing life cycle, including: loan servicing, future fundings, extension / modification requests, payoffs, tracking of required documentation and administrative/loan modification requests from sponsors and servicers
- Active credit surveillance and reporting of all balance sheet positions, including, but not limited to: financial analysis, updated underwriting, market research and sponsor financial conditions. Prepare quarterly / annual loan reviews to be presented to senior management in business and risk
- Maintain loan portfolio database, ensure accuracy of all data and reporting provided by sponsors and deal teams, and tracked in Citi systems
- Assist in quarterly loan review meetings, including coordination of key follow-ups with internal risk, deal teams and outside parties (sponsors, legal, etc.). Ensure consistency in approach and presentation among global deal teams
- Monitor key global CRE business limits, including risk weighted assets and risk capital. Requires constant communication with the business and other internal groups in all regions to accurately track and project financing opportunities as well as loan payoffs and modifications
- Manage P&L reconciliation with middle and back office functions to ensure accuracy of both revenue and financing charges
- Ad hoc requests from senior management, auditors and regulators, including exposure analysis, portfolio/asset stress analyses, and others as appropriate
- Regularly examine and identify areas of opportunity for improvement in portfolio/asset management processes and procedures
