Payroll Administrator

- £22,660 per annum plus benefits
Here at Serco, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Administrator to join our People Services Team. Our ever-growing payroll team is looking for a team player with the ability to update payroll systems, gather, calculate, and input data. You will support the payroll team with query resolution via phone, email and occasionally letters regarding queries about wages, deductions, attendance, and time records. You will respond to queries raised by authorised third parties such as HMRC and ONS and will be the first point of contact for copy payslips, P60s and support with P45 queries.

Main responsibilities of the role:
- Running and collating reports to support ongoing data integrity, answering of enquiries and support of audit activity.
- Update Payroll system with payroll inputs.
- Assist with preparation of out of cycle payments, BACS, and CHAPS submissions.
- Preparation of copy payslips and P60.
- Support with the review of National Minimum wage compliance within the business.
- Support with payroll project activities such as TUPE transfer in and out and preparation of Local Work instructions.
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Previous experience working in an administration role in a fast-paced environment.
- Payroll experience would be advantageous but not an essential for this role.
- Competent using Microsoft Office suite and willingness to learn new IT systems.
- Exceptional time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to prioritise and multitask effectively to meet business needs.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Good people skills and team player.
