£24,000 per annum plus benefits
Here at Serco, we partner with governments to provide public services across Defence, Justice & Immigration, Transport, Health, and Citizen Services. We're currently recruiting for a Payroll Administrator to join our HR Shared Services team in providing payroll responsibilities across Serco. Our ever-growing payroll team is looking for a team player with the ability to update payroll systems, gather, calculate, and input data. You will support the team with query resolution via phone, email and occasionally letters regarding queries about wages, deductions, attendance, and time records.
As our Payroll Administator you will respond to queries raised by authorised third parties such as HMRC and ONS. You will be the first point of contact for copy payslips, P60's and support with P45 queries, in addition to providing support to the advances team with BACS and CHAPS.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
- RUnning and collating reports to support with ongoing data integrity, answer of enquiries and support of audit activity.
- Updating payroll systems with payroll inputs.
- Supporting the payroll team with query resolution via voice, email and occassionally letters.
- Responding to queries raised by authorised third parties such as HMRC and ONS.
- Assisting with prepation of out of cycle payments, BACS and CHAPS submissions.
- Preparation of copy payslips and P60.
- Supporting with the review of National Minimum Wage compliance within the business.
- Supporting payroll project activities such as TUPE transfers in and out and the preparation of Local Work Instructions.
- Maintains payroll processing system and records by gathering, calculating, and inputting data.
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Ideally you will have previous experience working within a payroll environment.
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail
- Good people skills, team worker, adaptable, and willing to learn.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in IT with strong Microsoft Office skills (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Exceptional time managemnet and organisational skills.
- Able to prioritise and multitask effectively.
