Your new role

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this hands-on Payroll Officer role, you will need experience within a similar position, knowledge, understanding and practical experience of payroll legislation and employment law. Strong communication skills to build both internal and external relationships, with the ability to meet time-constraint deadlines and manage workloads. Strong MS excel skills with experience in payroll systems, along with being willing to learn and adaptable to business needs. You will have strong problem solving skills and be comfortable working within a team environment but also on your own initiative. Experience working within a manufacturing group with knowledge of time and attendance software and using Zellis system would be advantageous but not essential.

Suitable Candidate for the Payroll Manager vacancy:

• Previous experience working at Payroll Manager seniority whilst managing a team;
• Experience working in a large, multi-site organisation is advantageous;
• A CIPP or equivalent qualification is beneficial although not essential.

Your new company is an international manufacturing company based in Greater Manchester, who are looking to recruit an experienced Payroll Coordinator to join their friendly team on a permanent basis. Your new role:

As a Payroll Coordinator, you will be assisting with the production of 5 payrolls. You will be responsible for checking that the payroll is processed accurately and on time, calculating Tax/NI/SSP/SMP, making any relevant salary adjustments, preparing reports, handling pay queries, and working with HR to ensure a smooth payroll process.

What you'll need to succeed:

Previous experience of working within a busy payroll function is essential. Having experience with SAP and Workday would be beneficial but not essential,
You will also have good Excel skills and up-to-date UK payroll legislative knowledge.
